Location
Our office is based in Dedham, MA and our employees work on site in our studio 2-3 days per week. You would be welcome to join us in the studio but this role can also be fully remote from anywhere in the U.S.
The Position
Storm Flag is looking for an experienced MMO content designer to help with quest content creation for a live MMO. This role is fully remote, and requires an experienced designer with prior experience designing and implementing new content creation for a fantasy MMORPG. Level dependent on experience.
Personality-wise we are looking for an organized, self-directed designer who can be counted on to reliably deliver on tasks with little supervision.
This position can be 20-40 hours per week paid hourly under contract for the first few months. Conversion to a full time role is possible after this initial engagement. Contact us to find out more!
Requirements & Responsibilities
2+ years developing content as part of game development team working on an MMO or fantasy RPG
Familiarity with game design development pipelines
Quest design, world editor experience and writing for creative storytelling
Experience working in a large project and maintaining design principles, writing style, etc.
Self-directed
Work within the constraints of our current project to create high quality systems in the allotted time
Identify, break down, and define core mechanics
Take remote direction and feedback from project leads and adjusts designs accordingly
Is comfortable collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, and engineers
Takes the time to iterate upon and polish work to create the best possible game experience
Provides accurate estimates for design tasks, from pre-production through final polish and bug fixes
Complete work on an agreed schedule

Extensive experience playing fantasy MMORPGs on PC
Experience working on a live team of an MMORPG
Writing experience with for character dialog trees
Deep knowledge of the Lord of the Rings and other classic fantasy IPs
