The Position

Storm Flag is looking for an experienced technical QA tester to join our close-knit group of industry veterans in serving our professional services clients.  As a technical tester you will design and execute scripts in order to test diverse systems and components related to gameplay, UI, network, graphics and social features. You should be comfortable designing test cases for features based on design documentation or existing gameplay guides.  You will also be expected to deliver technical, quantitative, and qualitative feedback on assigned features to the development team.

Our current projects are developed in C++ or Typescript/Javascript. You may also use occasionally use look at Java code or custom game scripts. Most important is a strong knowledge of real-time multiplayer games and an interest in helping solve the various challenges of building them.

This is a contract position expected to provide up to 40 hours of work per week for the next 6 months or more. If you’re excited about joining a small and growing team, and helping to test awesome social games to share with a large audience, then please get in touch!

Requirements

  • Experience with JIRA or other similar bug tracking and agile management tools.

  • A background in Computer Science or a related field, or professional industry experience,  with a strong grasp of computer science principles.

  • Experience in writing, executing and monitoring test suites.

  • 3 years+ professional game testing experience and/or development experience or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with several programming/scripting languages, and deep knowledge of at least one.

  • Interest and knowledge in multiplayer games and multiplayer game technology.

  • Good collaborator. Strong communication and listening skills.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Self-directed. Capable of working independently for the good of the project.

Bonus Points For…

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience with C, C++, C# development.

  • Experience with Unity or Unreal game engine tools.

  • Passion and knowledge about online multiplayer games.
